THE TALK: The Magical Mystery Macrophage Tour

May 26, 2022

Abstract

Inflammation and healing impact disease and injury. At the center of these processes are the often overlooked immune cells called macrophages. From cardiovascular disease, gastrointestinal disorders, obesity and sepsis to tissue trauma and osteoarthritis, prognosis rests on the particular phenotypic expressions of macrophages. On the Magical Mystery Macrophage Tour, we’ll discover the hidden lives of these mysterious cells of innate immunity and glimpse their roles in some common medical conditions.
