Visiting Research Scientist
Dr. Jonathan Morgan joined IHMC on a courtesy appointment as a Visiting Research Scientist in 2024 working with Dr. Mark Orr. He is a Senior Research Analyst at Netanomics, a division of Carley Technologies in Pittsburgh, Pa.
His research interests are focused on examining identity processes and their influence on group interaction. His work is at the intersection of social psychology, social network analysis, and mathematical sociology. I approach these topics using a combination of social network analysis, simulation, Bayesian statistics, and experimental methods. I have also contributed to work modeling the effects of memory on the formation and maintenance of social relations.
He earned his bachelor’s degree at Penn State University, and his master’s degree and Ph.D. in sociology at Duke University.
