Katherine Mortimore
Research Associate
Katie joined IHMC as a Research Associate in January 2024, working with Dr. Toshiya Miyatsu and Dr. Kevin Gluck in the Cognitive and Computational Neuroscience group within the Human Healthspan, Resilience, and Performance (HRP) program. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience from the University of Washington (UW), with minors in Applied Mathematics and Data Science.
Katie’s passion for applied cognitive science began at the Naval Postgraduate School, where she interned with the Human Systems Integration Lab and the Crew Endurance Team, studying decision-making and human fatigue in operational settings. Before joining IHMC, she served as a research coordinator for a cognitive neuroscience lab at UW, managing daily lab operations and leading data collection and analysis for several research projects. Her current research interests include human neuroscience, cognition, resilience, traumatic brain injuries, and decision-making. Katie has developed expertise in EEG preprocessing and psychometric data analysis.
Outside of work, Katie enjoys working out, exploring the outdoors, reading, baking, and traveling.
