Paper Helicopters by Dr. Ian Perera, IHMC

The final Science Saturday for the 2016-17 academic year took place in April. The topic was “Paper Helicopters”, presented by Dr. Ian Perera, Research Scientist at IHMC. Students built paper helicopters and tested them using vertical wind tunnels. They also learned how helicopters fly. The Spring 2017 Science Saturdays were sponsored by Lockheed Martin and by Ron & Phyllis Ewers. The February, March, and April sessions were additionally sponsored by Publix Super Markets Charities. A big thanks is due to these sponsors and to student volunteers from Vanguard, Westport, and Forest High Schools for another fun season of Science Saturdays!
